EMO A.R.E.S. Emergency Preparedness Program

EMO ARES is a member group of Ontario ARES which is dedicated to providing an auxiliary emergency communications network utilizing a wide range of telecommunications equipment and technology, and through objective planning of these resources to deliver a quality communications system that meets the needs of our served clients at the Municipal and Provincial Government levels in the interest of Public Safety and Service.

The Procom Net meets every Thursday evening at 8:00 pm (20:00 hrs) using the Escarpment Repeater Association linked repeater system which is also linked to the Southern Ontario Repeater Team (SORT) repeater system. We incorporate IRLP via the Crossroads Reflector node 9206.

In the event of a declared emergency this network would be used to pass emergency traffic between Provincial and Municipal Emergency Operations Centres as well as local ARES Groups, providing coverage of all Ontario Districts. The primary HF emergency traffic frequencies are 7.153Mhz. and 3.742Mhz.

All stations are welcome and encouraged to join us on the network.

The Procom Network is conducted from the
Provincial Emergency Operations Centre   VE3EMO
the first and third Thursday of the month and from the
Toronto Emergency Operations Centre   VA3EOT
on the second and forth Thursday of the month.
